Stamp Review Crew: Snow Crystal

Welcome to the first Stamp Review Crew blog hop of 2024 — a great way to start the new year! I’m excited about this hop, featuring Snow Crystal. This cling background stamp is utterly beautiful, and it is appropriate in light of our weather here the last few days (dense fog! heavy frost! freezing drizzle! dangerously slippery conditions!). The image reminds me of the ice crystals that sometimes form on the windows.

Stampin' Up! Snow Crystal (#159821)

Only a few of us are on this hop, perhaps because this product was released even before the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. Within the Stamp Review Crew are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from around the world; our hops are the first and third Mondays of the month, with a focus on one stamp set. Remember that hop posts are available even after the hop; click the banner, above, to see the lineup for the Snow Crystal hop. Note that I will be posting my cards individually this week so I can give you some additional information and share the product lists.

If you’re hopping in order, you just enjoyed the work of Mike Funke on his blog, Stampin-Style. I have loved the cards he’s created in the last few months!

After a (mostly) leisurely week off after Christmas, I enjoyed being back at the craft table working with Snow Crystal while incorporating some new items from the upcoming mini. My goal for Stamp Review Hops is to use the featured stamp or set in an unexpected way, so my cards, for birthdays this week and next, do not show the entire image.

For the first card, for my sister, I embossed the images in white powder, then accented the centers with Boho Blue.

My second card is for our next-door neighbor. I stamped the image and embossed it in silver powder — I hope he sees the snowflake, but I think it’s an intriguing trio nonetheless!

Next up inspiring you is Cindy Elam of Heart’s Delight Cards. Enjoy her beautiful work!

Don’t forget to return here for details on my two cards this week!
