You only have one 27th birthday, right? So I wanted to make a special card for the girlfriend of one of our grandsons. Melanie is an artist (as in, commissions), so I used the occasion of the Stamp Review Crew blog hop to create this.
This is a simple layout, but the engineering aspects of the card had me gritting my teeth and scrapping some attempts. I flat adhered a piece of Basic White behind the die-cut patterned panel to support the many Stampin’ Dimensionals. That wasn’t the problem, but when I tried to line up the very sticky panel onto the card, oh my. What I should have done is adhere the patterned panel to a larger piece of the Pebbled Path patterned piece before it was on the card, then trimmed it. I’ll try that next time.
The placing of the letters would normally have been an issue for me (cursed be perfectionism!), but I just did my best.
I think all the drama was worth it– I am very pleased with the result and I hope Melanie enjoys this card!
