Merriest Tree(s)

Merriest Trees is such a fun bundle to work with. Although it’s on page 12 of the September-December 2023 Mini Catalog, don’t miss the samples on pages 4-5, 10, and 69 for more ideas. As you can see from those samples, you can layer and pop up the pieces to create amazing trees. This card was much simpler, but there was still a bit of fussiness.

The two-step set used on this card had a boost when I started on a colored background, giving the tree a fuller appearance. I used a well-inked Soft Sea Foam ink pad, which was surprisingly dark against the Soft Sea Foam cardstock. The bough details were created with Old Olive ink. A Stamparatus made this simple and fast!

I believe I told everyone at the November Jingle Jump that I did not know the purpose of the die with lines of dots — until I cut it out and recognized it as garland. Copper Foil (backed with an Adhesive Sheet before die-cutting), was the perfect accent with the Pecan Pie card base.

Now I know there are those who will say that garland does not look this way when you are draping it around a tree (see page 10). I think this is much more interesting!
