When I saw a Circle Sayings card by Charlet Mallett, a member of the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Team, I knew I had to try my hand at something similar for camp this month. I’m not saying that these shells exist in nature, but who can be sure?
Other than CASEing the stamped circle on Charlet’s card, I went my own way. I thought the “flowers” folder from the Basics 3D set (available in Online Exclusives) looked something like the starfish in the stamped image, so I used that to emboss the Pool Party strip. The striped piece of vellum reminded me of a striped beach towel on the sand. This is how it goes with me — sometimes it works, and sometimes it’s plain awful!
There’s a bit of a trick to getting the shells (a semi-circle image) stamped: Stamp the image once on a scrap, then punch it out so that there is little margin to the edge. Then stamp the other half. You might have luck stamping one half-circle, then the other, but I found when I punched out the images, it was not really a circle!
