I hope you had fun checking out the Stamp Review Crew blog hop featuring Nuts about Squirrels! My post today will look at my first hop card, a birthday note card:
Because we have a screen door on our front door, it’s impossible for a squirrel to mess around with a wreath; that is to say, if there’s a squirrel on my front door wreath, we have serious problems. But on this card, I imagined what it would be like to have a squirrel discover a wreath with acorns on it! He’s doing his best to hide, but catch that naughty look!
You may notice that the acorn he is “holding” is not part of the squirrel image. Because I wanted additional acorns to decorate the wreath (from the Cottage Wreaths bundle), I used the acorn image from Fond of Autumn. Sorry to admit that I was fussy cutting the fourth acorn when it dawned on me that there’s a die for this image!
I colored the acorns with Stampin’ Blends markers. Also, although there’s a greenish tint here, the squirrel is really an outline of Soft Suede and a filler of stamped-off Crumb Cake.
I’m sorry that Nuts about Squirrels is currently unavailable to order, but it should be back in stock next week.
