Honeybee Home: Miss You

I was mostly exiled from my stamping area while the painting continued in the basement, but my husband kindly insisted Tom take the day off so we could put most things back for my team gathering this month. We cleaned, moved furniture, cleaned again, moved furniture back the way it was originally — and in between those activities, I prepped a project for team stampers to make. Oh, and baked cookies.

I love most things with a bee motif, as my name means “honeybee,” so getting the Honeybee Home bundle was a given. For this card, I knew I wanted to use a tag embossed with the Hive folder, but I thought I’d experiment with layering some printed vellum on the tag first so it would be different from the card base. I did not expect this result:

I adhered the vellum to a piece of Bumblee using a piece of Adhesive Sheet. This allows complete — but invisible — adhesion, important because the embossing was kind of brutal on the tag. But the layers stayed together, and the result was a kind of waxy honeycomb effect that was amazingly cool!

I stamped and cut the bees and sentiment from thick Very Vanilla to stand up to all the texture on the tag. There’s Wink of Stella on the wings of the bees.
