Welcome again to another Stamp Review Crew blog hop! Who are we? Bloggers from all over, sharing with you our creations on one stamp set/bundle. Today’s focus is on Rainbow of Happiness from the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog. Note that although the stamp set is currently available, the dies are not scheduled to be in stock until the week of March 14.
You may have just visited Mitosu Crafts, the blog of Jay Soriano, and loved what he did — but you can complete the hop no matter where you start. Just click the banner, above, to see a list of all 10 bloggers in today’s hop.
I’m not sure I’ve ever owned a rainbow stamp set. I’m not fond of the primary colors seen on rainbows for kids’ rooms, and certainly not baby pastels, so I was challenged to do something as different from those as I could. And although I’ve used the Brilliant Rainbow Dies, I wanted to focus on stamping.
I cannot tell a lie: getting a good image was challenging for me. I was so unsettled by my lack of success, I was dreaming about this card! I was pretty sure I would need to start over using the Stamparatus (as I should have done from the start), but I left well enough alone and will embrace the imperfections.
This card is in the mail to a widow friend of ours — the bright colors should surprise and (hopefully) delight her! This rainbow is Polished Pink, Bumblebee, and Granny Apple Green. The sentiment is Gorgeous Grape.
I tried a variety of color combinations for my rainbows. One of my first was shades of green, but it felt too predictable. Next, I pulled out my favorite purples for this tag:
In our deep cleaning of the basement storage area, I discovered an amazing collection of gift bags. This is funny, considering I rarely use them! Even when I have swag bags for classes, I use neutral bags I can use for any season or subject. But in the stash, there it was: a bag nearly the perfect color for the tag already created. Bonus: purple tissue! This rainbow is Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, and Gorgeous Grape.
If you’re wondering, I used one of the (retired) Layering Ovals dies to cut this out. The curve was an excellent match! The little scalloped edge is fun, but the primary fun is inside the bag: homemade Oatmeal Scotchies, which rank #2 on the Favorite Cookies hit parade around here.
Thank you so much for visiting — now you’re hopping over to see what Kristie Wilson has for you at her blog, My Paper Life. Enjoy!
