Many Hearts: Stitched with love

For some reason, I didn’t take pictures of the many valentines I sent out last week, nor of the ones I helped Peter make for his class party. Both used the Lots of Heart bundle, something I was pretty sure I could do without (“How many hearts does a person need, anyway?”) but bought anyway. And glad that I did, as I used it for the card that greeted my husband at breakfast today:

I’m not sure where I saw this stitched heart, but I could hardly wait to try it myself. Seemed perfect to use with this lighthearted layout!

I couldn’t decide on a color for the heart, so I had several tries at this stitching. It took me back to the many cross-stitched pieces I did years ago, when I could focus on the pattern and the fabric without whipping my glasses on and off and my hands didn’t cramp. I saw on someone’s Instagram feed a sampler from a book I remember using. It didn’t look dated or vintage or sad — or anything but charming. Time to find a place for the piece I made for my parents’ anniversary.
