As I mentioned last week, I tried to vary the styles of the cards for Splash of Inkspiration: Piece of Cake. You’ve seen the patriotic version, and now we have something soft and pretty:
I saw these ferns layered behind the cake on someone else’s card and loved the subtle romance they added. Sponging — one of my favorite things to do with ink and paper! — contributes to the dreaminess. Note that the Purple Posy ink pad is not yet available, due to quality issues. However, I was happy to find that my pad doesn’t have any problems.
I embossed the vellum circle with the Tufted folder; truthfully, it’s pretty subtle, but I think it was worth it.
