Fable Friends: Sailor Squirrel

I love the bunny in this set (we’re using him this month in camp), but I adore the squirrel!

As I look out at our tree-less back yard through the dining room window while we eat breakfast, I wonder if the squirrels are confused. Didn’t we live here at one time? Wasn’t there a bird feeder here we tried to break into?

Luckily for them, they still can run back and forth along the pickets on the fence at the back of the yard. Oh, and all the peanuts from our neighbor across the street are likely still buried in the gardens. Enjoy!

I teased you several weeks ago with a card that used a modified Rectangle Stitched die cut. (You can see that post here.) Here’s the simple technique to make a die-cut rectangle smaller:

First, cut out the image by aligning three sides (here I was cutting top, bottom, and left sides).

Then re-position the die so that the right edge is aligned and — here’s the trick! — the top and bottom cutting edges are in line with the already-stitched edges. You will feel when they are aligned, because you will not be able to slide the die on the paper — the “teeth” of the die will be hooked into the stitching on the paper. In this photo, the die moved when I got ready to take the picture (you can see the stitching inside the die in the top right corner), so I had to realign the die before running it through the Big Shot.

I hope this makes sense; it’s really very simple to do!
