Last weekend was an anniversary in our family. Planning ahead, I designed this February camp card for the event:
I didn’t realize my photo was so poor, but the card went in the mail days ago so of course it’s too late to try again.
For a change, we watercolored these images, with ink refills and Aqua Painters. Heat embossing the image makes it less likely you’ll “color outside the lines,” if it matters.
I use a multi-welled palette (like this one) for the drops of ink refills so I can dilute them. Here we used three colors, so I put a drop of each color in three wells spaced around the palette. Next to each one of those wells, I dripped several drops of water. Then I picked up the tiniest bit of refill and mixed it into the water, repeating until it was the desired intensity.
Another tip: clean your Aqua Painter by squeezing water onto a cotton round (used to remove makeup) or square of paper towel instead of the Grid Paper, which makes it messy and wrinkly.
