Friday, October 9, is the deadline to register for the Holiday Stamp-a-Stack to Go. This variation on my annual Jingle Jumps will provide almost everything you need to make 12 holiday cards (two each of six designs) in the quiet, safety, and privacy of your own home. (No, those are not the words that describe my preferred camp setting, but it’s what we have to do for now!)
To read the details of this at-your-home camp, visit the Holiday SAS event page here. You’ll find a link to print a pdf form with all the details and registration information.

Leaves here in north central Illinois are just beginning to change, except for those few trees that are eager to show off. So I’m still stamping leaves in green … for today, anyway.
I don’t think I’ve shared a card using Love of Leaves images stamped on cardstock and then “stitched” with the coordinating dies. Such an easy, elegant look for this birthday card! The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink on the Pear Pizzazz cardstock panel. Keeping things monochromatic keeps me from fussing over too many decisions, and I love the way all these greens look together.
The little gold leaf appears to be caught in the ribbon, but it’s really just tucked underneath. Let’s keep things simple, right?

This is the birthday card I made in the Working with ribbon video earlier this week. I hope you’ll try the anchoring technique on your next card!
I try not to use the word “perfect” when stamping, because that’s way too much pressure on us. We are not machines, we are crafters; I want my cards to bring happiness, not to impress.
So, my point about learning how to tie a knot in ribbon is that the result is pretty (not necessarily perfect) and the card can be mailed without extra postage.
I’m sorry this ribbon is retired, but I still can enjoy the gingham ribbon that’s part of the Flowers for Every Reason Ribbon Combo Pack.

We all love gorgeous Designer Series Paper, and during this incredible sale, you can enjoy a 15% discount on select papers from current Stampin’ Up! catalogs! Now is a great time to stock up and save on some of our most popular paper designs. And don’t miss the seasonal papers — you’ll see some of them in the Holiday Stamp-a-Stack soon!
This card, inspired by Sue Mohr, is re-creatable in all sorts of combinations of colors and patterned paper. I happen to love dots, so I used a piece of 2020-2022 In Color 6”x6” Designer Series Paper in Bumblebee. I also happen to love that color!
See that strip of DSP inside the card? It’s not really a secret: that’s what’s left over when you cut the DSP to 4″ x 5¼” for the front! Adding that continues the theme from front to inside and provides a nice touch without any extra work.
Inside I stamped a birthday sentiment from Fancy Phrases in Cinnamon Cider ink, but suit yourself!
This shows the clever stitching on the negative piece of the die cut (I saved the Cinnamon Cider leaf for another card). Last week on my Heartfelt Inkspiration Facebook someone complimented me on my bows! In truth, I don’t often use bows on my cards, but this particular ribbon treatment is a … cinch!
My plan is to show you how to create this and other bows and knots in tomorrow’s Video Vednesday. See you then!

Last weekend was our 34th anniversary. As my husband said, looking back, it seems like a long time. It is! We’ve seen lots of changes in the world and in the family and in ourselves. Still working at it.
I loved a card recently created by my friend Wendy Weixler and only changed the background so it was more manly. Working with those little postage stamps is a pleasure for me, and I love the contrast against the bold Buffalo Check. I made a simpler, sweeter version for my stepdaughter’s upcoming birthday.
Notice all the details on the focal point! The colors are a little unexpected — somewhat autumnal, I think — and the embossing, scallops, bit of ribbon, and pearls all add up to perfection!
I used one of the rectangle dies from Stitched So Sweetly to create the black scallop.
I just love this, and I have a few more variations on my work table to complete in the next few days.

I’m sorry that I neglected to credit (on the watermark) my friend Jennifer Taylor for this card! I CASEd everything but the sentiment from a card she sent me. Love it!
This card — and the entire color palette for the Forever Greenery suite — remind me to be open to trying something that’s a little uncomfortable! I always assumed yellow-toned greens needed to be put with others like it. But here are blue-greens and yellow-greens playing quite happily together. The lesson: never turn up your nose at color combinations you see in the Stampin’ Up! catalogs!
I really appreciate my friend’s support when some days just seem so crushingly bleak and sad! “A true friend is you, friend!” was a Stampin’ Up! sentiment at one time, I’m pretty sure, and is totally appropriate.
Someone in your world needs words of encouragement — I am sure of it! Won’t you send them some?
