Did you ever have notepaper with that heading? I did, and it was personalized with my name besides! As a girl, I loved everything personalized; there used to be mail-order catalogs full of things to monogram and customize that were so enticing to me.
That is a bit of trivia (that may or may not be on an upcoming quiz) about me that has absolutely nothing to do with this picture of my worktable yesterday:
This particular project is finished, but I’m just getting started with fall stamping! What are you working on?
This August camp card uses a layout adaptable to other large stamps: one image in one corner and another fading off the opposite corner. The slight difference in the placement means the sentiment strip can be a bit higher than the middle.
When I was designing this card I was unhappy with the amount of “white” space. Spatters of stamped-off Crumb Cake looked wrong, as if I was desperate to fill in the space (which I was). The answer was the beautiful and complex Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. I am using it for all kinds of things now!
There was some silliness at camp with suggestions for alternate inside sentiments! “Some people are just likable” and — what comes next?
My go-to “long” birthday sentiment, “Let’s Celebrate You” from Celebrate Sunflowers, also works here (without the potential sarcasm!).

The layout of this Jingle Jump card is one of my current favorites. It uses the single-point edge from Basic Borders at an angle — hence the title of this card. I anticipated cutting so many of these panels that I made myself a template before I even started the second one. I lay the template on the piece to be cut and mark the sides and point, allowing me to easily line up the die.
Did you recognize this patterned paper from the Beautify of the Earth pack? I love so much of this paper, but especially this pattern because of the snowy-woods feel.
I doubt you can see the sparkle in this snowflake. but it’s beautiful! I used some of my stash of retired Sparkle Glimmer Paper, but cutting the snowflake from Shimmery White would be lovely, too.

I think this card was just the thing for my BIL. (You know, I always have to run the masculine cards by my husband to see if he agrees with my assessment!) Way too early for fall color, his early-August birthday called for nature and a bit of whimsy, although that last part was for me!
Combining a sawtooth edge with embossed checks is a playful touch, but without those elements, this would be appropriate for a more serious occasion and sentiment.
My inspiration was the tag on page 10 of the Stampin’ Up! 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I have been making a serious effort to look more closely at those samples! You can find the product “recipes” for recent Stampin’ Up! catalogs on my Resources page, here.
Every stamper needs a good set of trees, and the beauty of this set and its matching dies is how they cross seasons.

We are still loving the ready supply of peaches and nectarines in the stores; I buy a surprising amount for just two people! And so, again, here’s a birthday card for someone sweet!
We added shading to the peach stamp with a Sponge Dauber in Calypso Coral before stamping. It’s the same technique (“direct to rubber” or, in this case, photopolymer) used in this card.
I shouldn’t have been surprised to love Balmy Blue with the peaches and oranges in this card, and here’s why: blue and orange are complementary colors. Complementary colors are opposite each other on the color wheel; one is a primary color (blue) and the other is a secondary color (orange), achieved by mixing the primary colors on either side of it.
That’s about it for the lesson on color theory (this is a simple color wheel), but it does begin to explain why some color combinations are more pleasing than others.
Also worth noting is this classic combination of patterns. Using a floral, dot, and stripe works for a collection of pillows, too!

This afternoon and evening are the first two sessions of this month’s Jingle Jumps. (September’s sessions are open for registrations here!) I’ve been preparing for weeks, but next week is Camp Week, and I needed to design cards for that as well.
With all the happy stamping in the lower level, I was not paying attention to stampers who earned a free stamp set through my Burgin Bucks program. More than just letting them know about the free set (of their choice), I like to send the coupon with a note card for their own use So yesterday I buckled down and made a bunch of these:
If you’re saying, gee, that looks like Hand-Penned Petals … you’re right, kind of! This is one of the free packs of Designer Series Paper offered in Sale-A-Bration this month and next. If black-and-white patterns didn’t catch my attention, the coordination with one of my favorite sets in the Stampin’ Up! 2021-2022 Annual Catalog certainly did! And because I love to color, this pattern was the perfect choice for my note cards.
Most of these went out in the mail yesterday, but some will be included in the Jingle Jump kits. I can hardly wait to see what free sets are chosen!

Registration for the 2021 September Jingle Jump is at the bottom of this page — keep reading!
Is this the year you’ll send out handmade holiday greetings? Then get a “jump on your jingle” with this popular holiday stamp-a-stack. Come and make 10 Christmas/holiday cards (several of the same or a variety) for just $20. There will be six different designs to choose from in different styles—you’ll love the stamps from the new Mini Catalog—and none of the designs from the August Jingle Jump will be repeated! The cards are designed to be completed in about 10 minutes or so and have lots of interest but not a lot of fuss, in order to keep the cost low. These cards can be mailed with no additional postage, and most (maybe all) will have inside sentiments. This event is perfect for the new stamper, as you will work at your own pace—invite a friend to join you!
Session 1: Friday, September 10 — 1:00-5:00 p.m. (come any time) Session 2: Friday, September 10 — 6:30-9:30 p.m. (come any time) Session 3: Saturday, September 11 — 9:00-noon (come any time)
Note that registration is limited to 10 stampers at each session; registration will be closed by deadline or when session is full.
Need more than ten cards? Each additional card you make is $2, payable at the camp. I’ll supply envelopes and Stampin’ Dimensionals, but you need to bring your own scissors and adhesive (I suggest bringing several types).
Paid registration of $20 must be received by Wednesday, September 1. I’ll just need your name and contact information in addition to your check. You may also register online below. Please note that if I do not have your payment, you are not registered for this event.

The July–December 2021 Mini Catalog is your passport to stunning seasonal projects! It contains all the products you’ll need to craft, create, and celebrate during Halloween, Christmas, and more. I have been working with some of the Mini items in preparation for my upcoming Jingle Jump camps, and I’m not sure I can pick a favorite!
OK, if you twist my arm, the Painted Christmas Suite (pages 16-19) is pretty amazing! My head is always turned by a pinecone (can’t explain it!), and I can’t resist a versatile sentiment set. Take a look at this video to see why I’m smitten!
Today also begins the second Sale-A-Bration of the year — the first time this has ever happened! Here’s what’s so great about Sale-A-Bration:
Earn free, exclusive products for every $50 and $100 you spend.
Place a party or individual order over $300 and receive the exclusive In Your Words stamp set for free.
Join Stampin’ Up! as a demonstrator and add a free bundle (from selected July-December 2021 Mini Catalog bundles) to your $99 Starter Kit.
If you can hardly wait until tomorrow for the Stampin’ Up! July-December 2021 Mini Catalog and August-September 2021 Sale-A-Bration to kick off — well, I’d say you’re in pretty good company!
But before we get all boo and fa-la-la and brrrr, there are plenty of birthdays ahead that need a simple, non-seasonal card. Like this one!
The Biggest Wish set is used here very simply; the Stamparatus ensured a complete inking, but it’s not necessary. Of course, you’ll choose your favorite Designer Series Paper, but don’t overlook the host-only Pattern Party that I used here or, starting tomorrow, the great (and free) Sale-A-Bration choices!
The “secret” of this simple ribbon treatment is Tear & Tape; run across the card, it discourages fraying at the ends. There may be trim, but I’d still count this as a “guy” card.

Yesterday’s Sweet as a Peach card used the blossoms, and this card uses the peaches. I really wanted to use this set during peak peach time! A kitchen with a bushel of peaches ready to process for jam or the freezer is heaven, and even though I don’t can as I once did, I’ll never forget that aroma!
Using the Painted Texture 3D embossing folder on a panel of Petal Pink reminds me of peach or apricot sherbet. Yum!
I inked up each peach in Pale Papaya, then used a Sponge Dauber to add a bit of Calypso Coral to the outer edge of the stamp before stamping it. (Although it’s been years since we’ve used the “direct to rubber” technique, many stampers in camp this month remembered to “huff” on the stamp to moisten the ink before stamping.)
Can’t keep from using the Classic Label punch — you’ll see it again next week!
