Not in the catalogs, but …

Starting today, on the Online Exclusives page, Stampin’ Up! has corralled all products (except Clearance Rack items) currently available but not in any catalog. There you will find

  • New stamp sets and bundles
  • Punches (new ones that are part of bundles and stand-alone essentials like the 2″ and 1¾” circles)
  • Dies (part of bundles or stand-alone dies like the intriguing Radiating Stitches dies
  • Kits
  • Non-stamping items like 2022-2024 In Color Tumblers, hoodies, treat bags, and reusable shopping bags

You may also notice products that used to be in mini catalogs but never retired — we used to call them “carryover items” — like the wonderful Leaf Fall 3D embossing folder and the Gold & Silver 1/8″ Trim Combo Pack.

Keep in mind that there’s no end date for the Online Exclusives sales period! Some products will be reordered when inventory is low, and others will only be available while supplies last.  Enjoy this new feature!

Love for You: Country Floral Lane

The Love for You bundle has a clever pairing of die cuts and stamps — you saw them used in this post from January. I have Mary Fish to thank for the idea of using the negative of a die cut adhered over a contrasting panel.

Love for You | CASEd from Mary Fish, this card has a reverse die cut on the front that lets the cardstock peek through. Please click to read more! | Stampin' Up! | HeartfeltInkspiration.com | Debra Burgin

Inside the card is a sentiment from Country Bouquet — the Love from You “cousin” — but certainly you are only limited by what you have in your craft room! (I don’t feel I have to use only products from one bundle or suite, but coordinating the fonts gives my card some cohesiveness.)

The two hearts are not stamped but rather punched from one of the pieces of Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper, ensuring a perfect match with the floral print. But imagine what you could do with the Country Bouquet bundle and other DSP!

You might be able to tell that there is a little bit of fussiness with this idea: the centers of the letter o and e need to be adhered to the background. They are tiny! Keep your eye on the pieces (or cut extra) so you don’t lose them on the way from your cutting machine to your card!

Playing in the Rain: Wobbling Bunny

Have you been wobbling lately? If you’re as happy as this little guy, maybe you have been! (We’ll forget about any holiday excesses that might produce a similar effect….)

Playing in the Rain | This bunny is adorable on his own, but when used with a plastic spring "wobbler," you can be sure he's having a happy day! Please click to read more! | Stampin' Up! | HeartfeltInkspiration.com | Debra Burgin

I love this rabbit! If you know the Playing in the Rain Bundle, this guy is splashing in a puddle. But the die cuts the image so that the puddle is excluded. This was exactly what I wanted. Now, about that wobble …

The mechanism that creates that wobble is a plastic spring. On each end of the spring is an adhesive disk; you simply peel off the top layer from the spring and affix it to the back of the image, then peel off the strip covering the adhesive on the other end and press it to the card front. This product is called Hampton Art Action Wobbles. I haven’t checked, but I’d guess you could get these locally.

I’m sorry that the Playing in the Rain dies are currently unavailable; they are estimated to be in stock the week of March 13.

Country Bouquet: We Are Friends

Give me Country Gingham Designer Series Paper all day long for a fresh, springy look! It feels a bit like spring right this minute, but it’s too early, of course. I am planning the veg and flower gardens anyway. How I would love gingham in every Stampin’ Up! color; I have some scraps from previous offerings — did we have it as the color family 6″ x 6″ packs at one time? I use it sparingly, as you never know when a card might call for a little bit country. (Go ahead, sing it.)

This two-step image is quite easy to stamp, as this set is photopolymer. Honestly, I don’t know why I was surprised there was no die to cut this out — after all, the “cutter” part of the bundle is a punch! I should have noticed there was no shadow around this stamp image in the catalog. If you have a good eye, cutting this out by hand is no problem.

This was another valentine that did not get sent and will be put in my card box for next year. I guess I could cover up the sentiment inside, because certainly there are those in my life who deserve this card!

Petal Park: Thanks

Making a Gray Granite-based card in the gray winter is a bit risky, but the moodiness of that background (darker than in this photo) is brightened by the pop of Rich Razzleberry. I duplicated this card using Flirty Flamingo as the “pop” and was pleased with those results as well.

Another stamper inspired me to use one of the Sun Prints patterns for the background of the floral panel. The thin white border provided a nice bridge to the Razzleberry mat.

Although I could not find the emotional energy to send valentines this year, I felt so good after making and sending this card that I resolved to send more cards of appreciation. The Flirty Flamingo version of this design was sent to a bakery near us. Two weeks in a row I bought one of their delicious pastries for coffee dates, after-school snacks, and breakfast. I thought they’d like to know how much we enjoyed them.

Celebrate with Tags: Love

For the second day in a row, here is a valentine with unconventional colors. Something in this little scrap of Happy Forest Friends paper made me want to take this card in this direction. I love that paper and Celebrate with Tags, a set that coordinated with the now-retired Celebrations Tags dies. I can’t imagine what will replace that product!

This card appeared at my husband’s place for breakfast, as is the tradition here.

Country Bouquet: For You

Unconventional in its colors, this card still says “Happy Valentine’s Day!” Or perhaps you break into Love is Blue. (There’s a story about that song, but I will save it for another time.)

I’m so sorry that the Country Bouquet Punch is unable to be ordered until — gulp! — mid-April. I think both stamps and punch are pretty wonderful. I love the shape of these hearts. Did you know the punch cuts out some of the images of the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper? Actually, every part of this suite is terrific; I hope you were able to get it.

The little sentiment on the tag is cut out by hand. Perfection not necessary!

I have a pretty good supply of this ribbon from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack. It’s not at all bulky — perfect for this treatment (which is why you see me using it a lot).

Celebrating You: Dainty Flowers

This is a card design from last month that I have used often, varying the sentiment and colors (Mossy Meadow is beautiful) to suit the occasion.

This Sale-A-Bration patterned paper has wonderful all-over prints, but this particular design is intended to be cut in half and then into panels. The panel here is 3″ wide; I love the efficiency of that.

A strip of Vellum Basics is adhered along the edge that is hidden. This card is quick to create — even with the heat embossing and twine bow — so I have been going through my significant stash of DSP and cutting up other pieces that work as well. I am glad to have added quite a few cards like this to my ready-to-mail supply.

In the valley

Thank you for asking about me. I am sad to say that our oldest grandchild recently died from a blood clot in her brain resulting from an autoimmune disorder. Jenna was 36.

Although I had a few blog posts already written and scheduled, I am struggling to do anything creative. But I know that being busy with my hands is one way my heart can heal, so I will take out my stamps, ink, and paper and see if I can make something beautiful and happy that can bless someone.
