Timeless Tulips: Laser-Cut Card

In December I held a special camp after which, in theory, participants would have a gift appropriate for someone on their list. I’m not sure how many of the Laser-Cut Cards & Tin gifts actually ended up in the hands of someone other than the maker, but I’m not going to ask!

I’ve done these gift camps for a few years, and they are always a joy to create. (A half-day camp is a “Splash of Inkspiration,” with an emphasis on one product or concept.) Again this year, I worked with my stampin’ buddy Jennifer Taylor to create the six card designs. This was one of mine, offering a sneak peek at Timeless Tulips:

The ribbon was colored using the technique in yesterday’s tip; I love it! We used an image from the Woven Heirlooms set, one that allowed us to color two ribbons at once.

In case you’re wondering, each of the cards had a liner. This was simply adhered to the inside front around the edges; the rest was secured by the pieces on the front. Lining the front meant the inside sentiment didn’t have to be placed where it would be hidden, and the front laser-cut panel was much less fragile.

A couple of other notes: this manuscript stamp, from Very Versailles, is a favorite of mine for a background. Stamp the panel first, then die cut it to get it straight. Also, to give some perspective to the tulip, we stamped the stem on the stitched label, flat adhered the left-hand leaf, and used Stampin’ Dimensionals on the leaf on the right. The tulip head was flat adhered at its base with Multipurpose Glue, then the top was lifted with Dimensionals.
