Peaceful Boughs: Pillow Box

I saw the cutest pillow box on someone’s blog and thought it would be perfect for December camps. And then I discovered that it’s the sample on page 15 of the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog! I had to laugh at myself for not noticing that!

Here’s my version:

I just had to keep using the Wrapped in Plaid paper. (BTW, this paper is retiring, but its status as of last night was back ordered.) The Gold Foil boughs bring out that sliver of gold on the plaid, and the Poppy Parade bow (a lavish use of ribbon for me!) draws out the red.

Playing with color makes me happy!

A note on the construction: You can’t see it clearly here, but there’s a small piece of Shaded Spruce that bridges the gap left by the too-short plaid band. A 6″ strip will not quite meet around the middle, a situation similar to the waistband of my jeans around this time of the holidays! I die cut a small stitched label to cover the shortage.
