At last weekend’s Heartfelt Inkspiration team meeting, I posed the question, “What Holiday Catalog product do you have questions about?” I asked this really because, upon seeing the Stampin’ Up! 2019 Holiday Catalog online, I puzzled over the note at the top of page 47:
Add subtle detail to your die cuts by spritzing your cardstock with water before cutting. This results in a tone-on-tone color and creates a deeper imprint.
Is that how those beautiful leaves were created? Just with water and a die? I couldn’t believe it … until I tried it for myself, as soon as the Gathered Leaves dies arrived here.
Yes, it’s as simple as it sounds: dampen your paper and cut with one of the three cutting/embossing dies in this set. It’s amazing, and more than one stamper this month has all but accused me of lying about over-simplifying the process! There must be a chemical reaction. No. It’s special card stock. No. It’s a miracle. I think so!
I am prepping for the upcoming Love It, Chop It class, but I had to take some time to make little note cards for stampers who have earned a Burgin Bucks coupon for a free stamp set. I have a fair number of thank you notes to send as well, so Sunday afternoon was happy time in the studio. I’ll show you the finished product when these are in the mail!
