Hello from wintery north central Illinois! We had around 10″ of snow Friday and Saturday, then woke up yesterday to a temp of -15°F, with a wind chill of -31. I am happy to be in a warm and safe place (also grateful for our neighbor’s help), still listening to Christmas music.
If you are new to the Stamp Review Crew blog hops, we are Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from, well, all over! Our hops are the first and third Mondays of the month (with an occasional bonus hop). Blog hop posts are available even after the hop; click the banner, above, to see the lineup for this hop.
Bee My Valentine is the set featured in this Stamp Review Crew blog hop. This set is adorable, especially when combined with the clever Bee Builder Punch. You can find this bundle and all the products in the Bee Mine Suite on pages 8-10 of the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog.
Note that I will be posting my cards individually this week so I can give you some additional information and share the product lists.
The hop is a loop, so you may be coming here from the blog of Stacey Marsh. Isn’t she a wonderful stamper?
Although there’s plenty of valentine-y potential in this set, I actually created this happy thank-you card first. (It will post on FB and IG this week, but the recipient won’t know it’s for her until it arrives in her mailbox!) This “hobnail” embossing folder has been idling for weeks in my cutting room, after I felt I was using too much, but I dusted it off to complement the edges of the die-cut panel.
My second card is a valentine, but for whom? This is livelier than my typical designs, but I wanted to use the Designer Series Paper with this recessed window layout. I didn’t realize until I was assembling the card that the bee appears as though it’s had a bit too much holiday honey!
You’re on your way to enjoy the work of Kim Fee of Simply Fairies. I know you will love what she has created!!
Don’t forget to return here for details on my two cards this week!
Oh my goodness 10″ snow and minus 15 and there’s us in the UK moaning about the chill at minus 4, I take my hat off to you all over there, brrrrrr!
Your creations sure have a sunny spring feel to them just beautiful x
Thanks, Kim! I have plenty of little home projects to check off the list, so I don’t mind being inside.
Love these cards Debra, such a wonderful showcase. That’s a lot of snow. We only got 1″ but have -20 with windchill’s at -41. We are hunkered down good only go out to check on the farm animals and my parents. Stay safe!
Luckily we have absolutely no reason to leave the house, except for a bit of fresh air! I’m sorry, but I still can’t comment on your blog, but I just wanted to say how I look forward to seeing what you have created — you are the layering queen! Love your creativity!
Love the versatile uses of the postage dies you highlighted with this week’s set. Very fun cards!
Thanks, Heidi!
Both cards are awesome, but I do like how you inset the bee on the 2nd one.
Thanks, Terri!
