Piece of Cake: Mr. & Mrs.

We haven’t been to a wedding for several years, and now we have two in one weekend! Lucky for me I had this card ready to go for one of them, courtesy the Splash of Inkspiration last month:

Collaborating with my friend Jennifer Taylor, I tried several color combinations before settling on this Soft Sea Foam base with pink accents. This gorgeous Heirloom frame is the perfect counterpoint to the Tufted background, I think. The embossing folder (included with the dies) is the first 3D folder I’ve bought; I decided to invest in the Embossing Folder plate so that the sandwich was exactly right.

Instead of embossing the card front directly, I love to use a panel of the same color, just slightly smaller. No ribbon of the right color? We colored this Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon (my fave!) with a Stampin’ Blends marker. Swipe each side of the ribbon with the brush tip; allow to dry.
