Daisy Lane sympathy

I did go early to the clinic yesterday morning. I told the doctor how silly it seems to go in for a common cold-type thing that just needs to play itself out. He held up his stethoscope. “Do you have one of these at home? Then you probably couldn’t tell if you had pneumonia.” OK, then. Anyway, no strep, no pneumonia.

Even though I am working ahead, DH asked for a card for our friend whose father-in-law just died. Although these Brown-Eyed Susans seem a little autumnal, I think they’re appropriate to celebrate the life of this farmer.

I took the time to curl the tips of the petals, although I’m not too optimistic that they’ll stay that way through the mail. I stamped the flower again in Soft Suede ink on Crumb Cake and cut out the centers by hand.

My goal with a sympathy card is to convey our care and support, and I know our friend will appreciate this.
