Cottage Wreaths

The Gingham Cottage suite, on pages 58-59 of the Stampin’ Up! July-December 2022 Mini Catalog, is full of country vibes, from the assorted gingham patterns to the Silver-Threaded Twine (wow!). But for last month’s Jingle Jump, I turned to classy elegance with this card:

I have a few standard color combinations for the holidays and gray+white is one of them, evoking a frosty sky, just ready to snow. To achieve that, I embossed a Vellum panel and adhered it over a Smoky Slate card base. Now there are ways to hide adhesive so it doesn’t show through Vellum, but I find it easiest to apply the adhesive where it will be hidden behind an element that sits on top — in this case, the wreath.

So, after creating a base of Crumb Cake “twigs,” we overstamped that with the leafy wreath image in Pear Pizzazz ink and die cut it. (You may be able to tell that this is another Distinktive stamp set, which is why there are several shades of leaves on one image.) After adhering the wreath to the embossed Vellum Cardstock with Stampin’ Dimensionals, we applied adhesive on the back side of the Vellum behind the wreath and secured it to the card front. I find that our Vellum Cardstock has enough body that it doesn’t need to be completely glued down.

Don’t overlook those pretty red Festive Pearls! Although the color is Real Red, it is muted and has a pearlized feel, perfect for this card. The Festive Pearls are currently out of stock but are due to return the week of September 12.

I don’t know what the problem is with These are My Stamps, but I am unable to give you a product list with links in that format, but here’s what we used for this card:
