Designer Tags: Hello There

Talk about taking the long way around! I’ve been thinking and thinking about this rose cutout in the Designer Tags set of dies. I started out correctly, die cutting a piece of So Saffron that I intended to insert into the negative parts of the black tag. When I saw all the little pieces, I was confused. Blame it on a full day with the middle schooler, or the heat and humidity, or the long weekend — but I just couldn’t understand how it was going to work.

So instead of giving up, I die cut the tag and rose, then adhered pieces of Pear Pizzazz for the leaves and So Saffron for the roses behind the tag. This did give me the opportunity to add some shading to the roses, and it probably was less work than fussy gluing all those tiny pieces. I’ll try again.

I added a bit of background using a mask and a very light application of So Saffron ink. But two things I haven’t done in quite some time: make a card using Very Vanilla and make a card in landscape orientation!
