I hope you had a good time yesterday following the Stamp Review Crew blog hop featuring Sweet Conversations! Unless a blog post is removed, you’ll always be able to hop from blog to blog following the links you see in the SRC post, above, or on someone’s site. Here, click the Stamp Review Crew widget, at right, to get to the blog with all the past hops.
Black and white plus a pop (or two) of color is a winning combination, don’t you think? The colors on this card are not correct on my monitor, but so often when I see the post after it’s been published, the colors are accurate. Color me confused!
I’ve seen many cards over the years that use a graphic B&W stripe against something floral or feminine. I increased the contrast with a background panel embossed in delicate flowers, planning ahead so the embossed heart would be hidden behind the focal panel. This Boquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder doesn’t sound like more than, well, an embossing folder — but click below and note that it comes with nine dies. Pretty cool product!
Over the years, I’ve learned to create more pieces than I need for a card design experiment. When things don’t turn out as I’ve envisioned, I have more to play with and don’t need to start from scratch. But since this card was “first-time final,” I used some of the extra hearts inside the card (in the top left and bottom right corners).
