Are you working on your Valentine’s Day cards yet? My valentines go to a different group of people than Christmas cards — but there are a lot of people on the VDay list! This card (one of a kind) will go to a young boy I see most days. I think he believes the sentiment here, but it never hurts to state it!
I hope you can see this little detail: at the top of the kangaroo’s pouch, there is a slit so that you can insert a variety of items. This clever aspect of the die means this set is suitable for birthday, love, and spring — and of course, a new baby. If you don’t adhere it, pulling out the insert could reveal a message; I punched out my message with a retired punch instead. This is a super set!
We colored the kangaroo with just a Light Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends marker, going over some areas to provide shading. Try that technique! Just because there is a light and dark color in a Stampin’ Blends Combo doesn’t mean you’ll always use both for shading.
For the sky and grass, we experimented with the new Blending Brushes. If you’ve been unable to achieve soft, gentle shading using a Stampin’ Sponge, these tools are for you! The first time I used one, I was convinced my sponging days were behind me!
