Blessings of Home: Thank You

I love pink, especially Flirty Flamingo. It’s not a baby pink or strawberry ice cream pink — I think it’s kind of sophisticated. For this, my second card for the Stamp Review Crew Blessings of Home blog hop, I began with the end in mind: a Flirty Flamingo tag.

The flowers are Flirty Flamingo, of course, and Pale Papaya and Mango Melody, I think. I didn’t want to make it overly sweet. And then, when I was ready to create the tag, I thought … what if … ? And I pulled out the Layering Designs Vellum, 12″ x 12″ sheets of three designs, each printed in either Basic Black or Basic White.

Here you can see the result that I found quite wonderful! In order to get the best (but also the most invisible) adhesion, I first applied a piece of Adhesive Sheet. Have you ever used this product? It’s basically adhesive between two slick carrier sheets:

  1. Keep in mind that the adhesive is exceptionally sticky and likely to get all over your project and fingers!
  2. Cut three things to the same size: card stock scrap, adhesive sheet, and vellum scrap. The “scraps” will be die cut, so the edges don’t have to be perfect aligned — but re-read point #1!
  3. Peel back just a bit from one end of the carrier sheet and apply the exposed edge face down to the cardstock (you will have a complete carrier sheet on top).
  4. Slowly peel off the rest of the carrier sheet as you press the adhesive, as if applying contact paper.
  5. Now slowly peel back the remaining carrier sheet (on top) and apply the vellum. Use your Bone Folder to make sure there is consistent contact on all surfaces.

Don’t be overwhelmed by those instructions — you will get the hang of it quickly.
