Posted for You: Buffalo Check

Last weekend was our 34th anniversary. As my husband said, looking back, it seems like a long time. It is! We’ve seen lots of changes in the world and in the family and in ourselves. Still working at it.

I loved a card recently created by my friend Wendy Weixler and only changed the background so it was more manly. Working with those little postage stamps is a pleasure for me, and I love the contrast against the bold Buffalo Check. I made a simpler, sweeter version for my stepdaughter’s upcoming birthday.

Notice all the details on the focal point! The colors are a little unexpected — somewhat autumnal, I think — and the embossing, scallops, bit of ribbon, and pearls all add up to perfection!

I used one of the rectangle dies from Stitched So Sweetly to create the black scallop.

I just love this, and I have a few more variations on my work table to complete in the next few days.
