If you’re like me, you love patterned paper, or DSP (Designer Series Paper): those beautiful colors, the coordinating stamp sets, the versatile “plain” patterns on the back. The only problem is actually using it, am I right?
In this Splash of Inkspiration class, we’ll apply “Love It, Chop It!” principles to the playful Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper, as seen on page 32-34 of the Stampin’ Up! January-June 2020 Mini Catalog. (Kylie Bertucci, a demonstrator from Australia, popularized the notion of prepping your DSP so that it is ready to use.) The secret is the cutting template* you can use to cut a single sheet of 12” x 12” paper into several panels. You’ll be able to make dozens and dozens of cards from a pack of patterned paper! *Note that the cutting template for this event is different from the ones used for other Love It, Chop It classes.
First, I’ll cut up each of the six Birthday Bonanza patterns into 6” x 6” pieces—the entire package. Then, using the template, I’ll cut half of those squares into smaller pieces (packaged in a labeled plastic case) from which you’ll make 12 embellished greeting cards (3 each of 4 designs) with envelopes. Your cards will use the Bonanza Buddies stamp set (photopolymer stamps) and Bonanza dies; both are available to add on to your registration. Some additional products will be used to create cards not quite so kid-oriented!
