How can you resist the exuberance that is the cover of Stampin’ Up!’s January-June 2020 Mini Catalog? Choosing products from the Peaceful Poppies Suite to kick off this amazing catalog was brilliant — the fact that all that color brightens up our gloomy days in north central Illinois is like a breath of spring! I’m lucky that our neighbors have poppies in front of their house; I’ll see them every day in a couple of months.
Meanwhile, I’ve been playing with these products for both February stamp camps and last weekend’s All-Occasion Stamp-a-Stack camp. I experimented with several variations of color for the big poppy — you have only to look at the samples all over the catalog for color ideas, as well as that beautiful palette of suite colors on page 25. Poppy “rejects” found homes on other projects, like this cheery February birthday card for my sister-in-law:
Inside the frame is a panel stamped (twice) with the “I love you” script from Parisian Beauty. I am very fond of my husband’s sister, but I’d never actually verbalize the words on this stamp to her — or anyone, actually — so I hope it’s not particularly legible!
If you look at the description on page 15 of the Parisian Blossoms Suite, you may be taken aback by its price. Remember, though, that the suite includes two stamp set/die bundles, one 3D embossing folder, specialty designer series paper, rhinestones, and ribbon — everything on that page. There’s not anything in this suite that is not beautiful or useful. You could play with this suite for weeks and not repeat a design!
