I admitted in my weekly newsletter yesterday that I “hold back from buying patterned paper.” That’s not to say I don’t buy it, just that it’s not usually the first thing on my new catalog shopping list. (I go for the bundles first!)
Anyway, I didn’t have to even place this Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper (introduced in the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog) on my list, as attendees to last April’s OnStage got it free at the end of the event! That was easy!
Unless you’ve seen this paper in person, you can’t really tell how distinctive it is, with heavily embossed, shiny printing on selected areas. The color palette (Blushing Bride, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Mint Macaron, Soft Suede, Terracotta Tile) is so beautiful. I never, ever would have thought of putting these colors together!
This is another of the designs from the Greeting Cards & Tin class last month. As others have done, I chose to cut out the roses by hand and use them as accents; the leaves are cut from one of the other patterns.
The liner for this card is Very Vanilla. The base of each laser-cut card is not exactly the same as VV — it’s more ecru, I’d say, a beautiful, subtle contrast. The design on the front was pattern enough!
The amazing thing about this card is that it is totally flat — so unlike my usual work!
