Again this year, we have friends who are facing the first Christmas without a loved one. I know how it feels to miss someone at this time — and to remember the Decembers several years ago that they each died. In fact, as I was looking at my mother’s birthday book a few weeks ago, I was amazed to note how many family members through the years had died in December.
So I try to be sensitive to that when I send out our Christmas cards. I’m glad to have the sentiment — from Itty Bitty Christmas — on this card to convey a more tender emotion.
I didn’t intend to design a card quite so Scottish in feeling, but that’s what happened when I added this beautiful border, which reminds me of a petticoat peeking out from a plaid wool skirt (OK, if you turn your head!). This is another card using the Beautiful Boughs dies. More to come!
