When I decided to offer a Jingle Jump in July — because you asked for it! — I was faced with a dilemma: many of my Christmas sets had retired or had been used enough last year. Since I was designing the JJ cards prior to the 2019 Holiday Catalog, I had to take another look at the holiday sets in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.
Enter Making Christmas Bright, which I actually ordered before the new annual catalog was released but after the retirement lists were released. That way, I could get the 10% discount on the bundle (just a little strategy you might want to consider!).
This card was, as you see, inspired by Jaimie Babarczy. Except for the colors I chose, the design is essentially hers. I loved the way the bulbs were “hanging” from twine fastened over the top of the top panel. I broke my “no retired product” rule and used the Silver Baker’s Twine because I didn’t think there was an adequate substitute.
I love Poppy Parade, and using Mint Macaron for the circles/wreaths provided some nice balance. Another green probably would have made this too loud.
The cards for the next (and final) Jingle Jump in October are totally new. Are you registered yet?
