Stamp Review Crew: Incredible Like You

Stamp Review Crew Incredible Like You blog hop May 2019

You can’t know just how happy I am to be part of the first Stamp Review Crew blog hop of May — it has been months since I have been able to participate! As a reminder, the Stamp Review Crew is an international group of international Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who get together on the first and third Monday of each month to bring you all kinds of fabulous inspiration on a single stamp set. This hop features Incredible Like You, a set (with coordinating card kit) from the 2019 Occasions Catalog. It’s on the retirement list, but that doesn’t stop us from creating does it?

The blogger on the hop before me is Nikki Spencer at My Sandbox — I hope you love her work as much as I do! (Remember that you can click on the banner at the top of this post to see a list of all hop participants.)

I like to venture off on the creative road not taken, so I turned my back on the poppies (?) and instead focused all my attention on that little floral spray. Is it a branch of lilacs? I hope so, as I am yearning to see them in our area — if not in my backyard, then elsewhere in the community. I am not above stopping my bike ride or stroll in front of a neighbor’s house and breathing in that luscious scent.

I struggled getting the color right in these photos. The background panel is the lovely Purple Posy, a 2019-2021 In Color. I would describe it as a light grayish purple, and it won’t surprise me when someone says, “It acts as a neutral.” As you can see, it plays well with the retiring Gingham Gala paper, this piece in Highland Heather.

On my monitor, this is closer to the color IRL. Here you can see the swash of Soft Sea Form that I created with a Stampin’ Blends marker. I stamped the square mat with the other stamp of flower heads (those dots), embossing it with clear powder for a subtle shine.

I hope you feel spring in this card! The “ingredients” follow the blog buttons, below. Now you’re on to Mitosu Crafts, the blog of Jay Soriano. Enjoy!

Yes, lilacs! I was at a loss for what type of flowers were in this set, but I like your interpretation. I’m glad to hear you stop to appreciate them too.

Elegant card design Debra. Great idea with the topper and embossed dots
