If I want to be reminded by the 12yo just how ancient I am, I tell him something like this: I learned to type on a manual typewriter, and I have been typing for over a half-century. I think I am still pretty fast and accurate, but what difference does it make now?
Anyway, it’s not surprising that I totally fell in love with Just My Type in the Stampin’ Up! 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. Yes, a set of coordinating dies might have been nice, but the July stamp campers managed! On this card, I was compelled to use the “Hobnail” folder from the set of three Basics 3D Embossing Folders to echo those typewriter keys.
In order to get a complete impression from this photopolymer typewriter stamp, I find it essential to put my cardstock on a foam-padded mat. I’ve mentioned this before, but the mat I use is an ugly vinyl placemat that I cut into four or six pieces. The last time I was at Walmart, I looked for something similar but couldn’t find anything. I also have some craft foam pieces that work pretty well. The idea is to give yourself something to push into. A hard surface will not do as well.
This sweet floral may be my favorite print from the Delightfully Eclectic DSP. I love the coordination in that pack, even though the prints are so varied.
