It’s been a busy few weeks here: tax prep, all the Stampin’ Up! news, two tornado warnings that sent us to the basement (without coffee!), the painting of two-thirds of the bathrooms in this house, a brief trip away (OK, just to the next state over), some very deep cleaning, Easter brunch here, Easter break kid care, and much designing and stamping and cutting in preparation for next weekend’s All-Occasions Stamp-a-Stack. It’s no wonder I’m weary!
However, almost everything had an element of enjoyment, even the cleaning of the dining room chandelier (all those prisms!) and all the other ceiling fixtures in the house. It’s so satisfying to see things sparkle.
Anyway, I want to show you the last card from my recent Artistic Mix Decorative Masks class. I am happy these are in the new 2023-2024 Annual Catalog, along with a new set of masks. The Foursquare Decorative Masks are on my wish list for May 2, and I am anxious to take them for a test drive with many of the new (and returning) colors!
This card showed participants how to create a “swash” of color from one corner to the opposite one, fading the color on either side. This is a simple background that can be created in no time with just a few supplies!
As with a lot of stamping techniques, you will get better the more you practice, but even an unsatisfactory result is really only “wasting” cardstock.
