Hello and welcome to today’s Stamp Review Crew blog hop! Today’s featured set is Leaves of Holly, a wonderful set (and bundle) from the Stampin’ Up! July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. The Stamp Review Crew has a bunch of stampers, but only three of us are participating today. You may have come here via Mike Funke’s blog, Stampin-Style. I would describe Mike’s style as C&S (clean and simple). What do you think?
I have been working on designs for this weekend’s Jingle Jump, so this bundle has seen a lot of activity. For this hop, I began stamping a lot of backgrounds with the smaller of the two “open” holly images, tone on tone. I have several of these experiments in my Unfinished Objects box ready for additional designs!
I wanted to keep this card, Noel Holly, classic and elegant, and the easiest way to do that was to use traditional colors and the wonderful Distressed Gold 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. (When my stampin’ buddy Elizabeth said she couldn’t get enough of this paper, I had to find out why!) To keep the background from competing with the other elements, I stamped the leaf in Pear Pizzazz ink on the Mossy Meadow card base.
You may notice some new details on that card — I’ll be posting additional pictures and complete details of my cards later this week (and a bonus card!), so please come back tomorrow.
You can see another background experiment with my next card, Frosted Holly. This background is Soft Succulent ink on Soft Succulent cardstock.
Looking at the holly leaf, you may not be able to tell just how sparkly the Glimmer Paper is. It is from the Real Red & White 6″ x 6″ Glimmer Paper pack in the current Mini. I have used quite a bit of this paper; it is absolutely snow white, not iridescent like earlier Glimmer Paper — quite fabulous!
A bundle with a holly image or two is an essential Christmas element in my stamping area; I hope you feel the same! In December, the Stamp Review Crew will be featuring Merriest Moments, a bundle with a more petite holly leaf. Be sure to watch for that hop on December 18.
Thank you so much for visiting me here at Heartfelt Inkspiration. Your next stop is Heart’s Delight Cards, the blog of Cindy Elam. Enjoy your time there!
Both lovely cards, Deb! Love the antique-looking Distressed Gold oval frame especially. ☺️
Love both of these
So do you like the distressed gold now? I like that Noel Holly card. The circle looks great.
I love it!
