Stamp Review Crew: Knit Together

We are barely into October and have had our first (light) frost of the season here, so it’s the perfect time to celebrate Knit Together with the Stamp Review Crew. You’re probably not surprised to be hopping with us today, since it’s the first Monday of the month. But watch the calendar: in October we’ll be hopping three times! So join us — an international group of stampers — as we focus on a single stamp set for each hop.

Remember that you can see the list of stampers participating today by clicking the banner above. You’ll only be visiting a few blogs today, so relax and spend some time enjoying the inspiration. You may have come here from the blog of Holly Krautkremer, Rubber Redneck, but it doesn’t really matter where you jump in!

I have always loved background stamps, although when Stampin’ Up! introduced its cutting and embossing machines, my head was turned. Meanwhile, the number of background stamps decreased substantially and background embossing folders increased. But they don’t perform the same functions, so my stamping world is big enough for both!

I’ve created cards for this season and the next. (I’ll be posting the details of my cards later this week.) Here I chose to use Knit Together on this Kraft leaf — a background, but a little one! And I used embossing folders (two of them) for more texture and interest. There are 25 leaves in the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack, so I have enough to create a banner with Knit Together as a starting point. Stick with me to see (a) if I follow through with this idea and (b) what the banner will say.

Moving ahead to Christmas, this was my first concept for a hop card: a frosty background using Knit Together embossed in white on Basic White.

Of course, it’s just a little difficult to see, so here’s another view:

As we say, better IRL! Thank you so much for spending time with Heartfelt Inkspiration. Enjoy your visit to Painted Orange, the blog of Charlet Mallett!

Amazing project! It’s so cool to see the embossed texture.

  2. Great projects! Love the embossed background.

  3. Elizabeth Hamilton says:

I very much like both of these. I wouldn’t have thought to use it on the leaf.
