With most of the All-Occasions Stamp-a-Stack to Go kits out the door, I can relax and get back to “normal.” It sort of surprises me that after periods of intense preparation (thousands of pieces cut and kitted), one of the first things I want to do is stamp! As I approach my 16th anniversary as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I can honestly say that I have never lost the joy of stamping.
And speaking of joy, that’s what Sweet Strawberry in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog gives me! The images are charming, the sentiments perfect, and — available as a Sale-A-Bration freebie — the coordinating paper and Berry Blessings stamp set are simply the whipped cream on the shortcake! (Those two products are a January-February Sale-A-Bration bundle and not available separately.)
This concept of splitting a circle with Designer Series Paper came from a demonstrator outside the United States whose name I can’t recall. She used this circle as the top of a jar, I think, which was so sweet. I had to put it on a card front for the January stamp camps!
The circle was cut from DSP; after stamping a Basic White scrap, I trimmed the top and then cut the lower arc of the circle. I love this look!
Here you can clearly see the shading that is built into the DistINKtiveā¢ image. You don’t have to stamp the strawberry in two steps, of course, but it’s so easy and effective!
The smaller flower is cut with the Strawberry Builder punch; the Small Bloom punch cuts the larger one.
