I had an amazing end of the month of November, with lots of birthday cards and Facebook greetings over several days, a lovely and lively Thanksgiving here with friends and family, and a fun anti-Black Friday getaway to a small (very small!) town a couple of hours away for just the two of us. Our annual day away never involves much shopping, but we had a delicious lunch at a tiny restaurant and then returned a few hours later for dessert.
And now the calendar has been turned to the last page. Time to rejoice in the gift of Christmas and reflect before the new year begins.
I introduced my first Christmas card at a monthly stamp camp in October. This card is so my style: simple and classic.
By “simple,” I don’t mean stark or even without layers. Rather, I try to make each element contribute to the “story” of the design. So the embossed layer speaks of winter (in case the red plaid panel looks like a summer picnic tablecloth!). The green sprigs might have been clipped from our front hedge. The elegant sparkling star is tempered by the common cotton twine.
So much for the philosophizing. This Tiny Keepsakes Bundle. with its versatile sentiments and fun dies (check out those little stitched tags!), is a keeper. Will it be on tomorrow’s Year-End Closeout list? We will know in a few hours!
