Twenty-five years ago today a new granddaughter entered my world and changed me forever! Bayley was the light of my life during a sad time after my father died. I don’t believe in love at first sight, but I was certainly immediately infatuated!
When her brother was born, Bayley spent a few days at our house. Grandpa was washing windows, and Bayley always needed to be where the action was. I love this picture of the two of them.
She was always talking and was so fun to be with – and still is! While I worked in the office, she worked at her drop-down desk, drawing pictures of her favorite stuffed animal, Puffy. Now that “creation station” is used by Peter.
I made this birthday card for her, using the wonderful Country Floral Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (on the envelope flap, too). It’s free during Sale-A-Bration, but the good news is that it will appear in the Stampin’ Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog beginning June 4. That’s great news for me!
I colored the embossed areas of the white panel using a Sponge Dauber and ink pad. The sponge tip is bigger than some of the embossing, so the colors may be “outside of the lines,” but who said art is perfect?
A very cool effect of coloring this deep embossing is that different areas catch the ink differently. I only used two colors on this panel, but it looks like more, doesn’t it?
