Stamp Review Crew: A Little Wild

Hello again! So glad you’re here for the Stamp Review Crew blog hop featuring A Little Wild, a stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  If you’ve hopped with us before, you know we are an international group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators getting together on the first and third Mondays of every month to do a blog hop.  Each hop features a single stamp set to give you loads of inspiration for just that set!  The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog, and you will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want.

If you’re hopping in order, you’ve just enjoyed Lou’s work at With a Bow on Top.  (Click the banner above for a complete list of participating blogs for this hop.)

The card I’m sharing is a layout I am positive I’ve used before, but I find no evidence of it in my stamp camp or other project files. Likewise, I don’t know who originated this window layout, so I regret I can’t give credit.

A Little Wild | I’m not sure there’s ever been another Stampin’ Up! set that has both the front and back of an image. The animals in this set can be used for a tag. I colored this little guy with Stampin’ Blends for the most vivid coloring.  What’s different is that I started with an image stamped in Classic (Soft Suede) ink.  The ink recommended for these alcohol markers is Memento, which resists smearing when you blend across the stamping; however, I didn’t want to use a black line image.  Did it smear?  I’d call it more of a “softening” — see for yourself:

I’m sure you know that each of the animal images in this set has a front and a back on the same stamp.  They’re designed to create a fold-over tag.  So cute!  But here, after die cutting the image, I trimmed them so that I could use them separately.

I hoped you enjoyed my card; at the end of this post, you’ll find the supplies I used. Meanwhile, you can hop over to find out what Stesha has created for you at Stampin’ Hoot!
