Recently I read a post from a “lifestyle” blogger who wrote about how to enjoy the week before Christmas. I can’t find the post now, but there were some really good ideas about achieving a level of calm during what can be a hectic and … unpleasant week.
Last week — the week before the week before — was hectic, but not at all unpleasant, with four Stamping events capped off by a family gathering at my stepdaughter’s home. It is the season, however, when I must be organized and working ahead — even in the kitchen!
So for my contribution to various buffets, I’ve made several batches of Candy Cane Popcorn. It’s simple and delicious.
Here is the recipe, from The Girl Who Ate Everything: Candy Cane Popcorn. I popped 1/2 cup of corn kernels and used a 5-ounce package of 12 candy canes. I keep extra candy canes on hand so I am ready for the holidays and can also make this treat for Valentine’s Day.
