Hello, stampers! My husband and I just returned from a brisk (feels like 20°) walk, and I’m settled in at the computer to show you what I created for this second Stamp Review Crew blog hop of November.
Are you new to the SRC hops? We are a group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who want to show you how much you can do with one stamp set — this time it’s First Frost from the 2018 Holiday Catalog. If you came from the previous blog on the list (which you can see by clicking the banner, above), you enjoyed the creativity of Ann Schach at The Stampin’ Schach. Her work is just wonderful!
When a stamper says to me, “After all, how many floral stamp sets does a person need?” My answer (even if not spoken out loud!) is “At least one more!” And so First Frost found its way into my studio. And it will stay there even after the HolCat leaves us. First Frost makes my heart sing. It is so easy to make something beautiful and classic — just my style!
I knew I wanted to use the spriggy image in heat-embossed white on a dark card base, but it turned out too busy, especially after I added the same image in black. A smaller panel of vellum softened the background and provided a frame.
The large flower is stamped in Poppy Parade and the smaller ones are in Calypso Coral. I am wildly excited about the upcoming Frosted Floral Gift Box class in a couple of weeks. I know the stampers will love it — the recipients of the gift will, too!
And now I’ll send you off to Painted Orange, blog of the amazing Artisan Design Team member Charlet Mallett. I loved talking with her at OnStage in Orlando! If you wish to see the products used in this card, you’ll find them after these buttons:
