Preparing to color

When I first start experimenting with Stampin’ Blends on a stamped image, I pull the markers I think I’ll use (at least those that aren’t packed for camp!) and create a palette, like this: | Debra Burgin | Stampin' Up! | Before I begin to color, I often create a color palette like this. As you can guess, this was specifically for the pumpkins in this image.  I didn’t want them to all be the same, so this helped direct my coloring and shading.  (Sometimes I continue the palette with new colors creating by blending two or more.)  This birthday card for our oldest grandson was the result of my first effort: | Debra Burgin | Stampin' Up! | Many Blessings | A simple birthday card for a guy's October birthday. Funny, after I saw the markers lined up like that, I noticed that Stampin’ Up! changed the label a bit for the new markers in the Holiday Catalog!

In three weeks I’ll have the next seasonal catalog in hand.  How I hope there will be even more Stampin’ Blends colors!
