Stamp Review Crew: Buffalo Check

Welcome, friends!  I’m so happy to be participating in this week’s Stamp Review Crew blog hop featuring the Stampin’ Up! 2018 Holiday Catalog background stamp Buffalo Check.  Perhaps you’ve just enjoyed Heidi’s work at Running w Scissors Stamper and followed the link here.  Or are you lost???  Clicking on the banner above will take you to the Stamp Review Crew post for this hop, where you’ll find the complete listing of bloggers (a bunch of us!) who are participating today.

If you follow my Heartfelt Inkspiration blog, you know how much I love this stamp!  For weeks I have been experimenting with ink colors and paper colors — and nearly universally in love with the results!  One version, however, I waited to try just for this hop:

Debra Burgin | Heartfelt Inkspiration | Stampin' Up! | Buffalo Check | Winter Woods | This was an experiment in heat embossing the Buffalo Check background stamp. Stunning! Please click for more details!

This is heat embossing the image in silver.  Perhaps this will show the stunning effect better:

I inked up the stamp with VersaMark using a hard rubber brayer.  This was my first attempt, and I couldn’t believe I had a first-time-final result!  It is so stinking beautiful!

This Christmas card also uses the wonderful tree stamp and dies from the Winter Woods bundle; the little sentiment is from Farmhouse Christmas (that blog hop is coming up on November 5).

We used the Buffalo Check stamp on a camp card in September; I’d love for you to come back tomorrow and see it!

Next up is Mike at Stampin-Style.  Enjoy his wonderful work!

What a stunning card! You turned your card around made all the difference in the world! I couldn’t see it in the first photo. I love everything about your card. I’m already thinking copper and wondering about card stock. I love this stamp as well as the Festive Farmhouse bundle which I just ordered today. Now, wait a week before I get my new goodies!

Oh, Gloria, it’s so hard to wait, isn’t it? I confess that by the time my goodies arrive, I sometimes don’t feel the love quite as much as when I submitted the order! What was it I was going to do … ?
