Celebrate plaid

You’re expecting something in a buffalo check, right?  No.  Today I’m sneaking into the holidays with this Jingle Jump card from earlier this month:

I love this little set, Nothing Sweeter, on page 25 of the Stampin’ Up! 2018 Holiday Catalog.  But this card doesn’t have anything stamped from that set (Celebrate is from Thoughtful Banners).

What I did use, though, is the set of Framelits that coordinate with the stamps:  Sweetly Stitched.  For each of the three image shapes in the stamp set (tree, heart, and gift box), there is an outline die to cut it out and another to provide the stitching.  So clever!  And I adore that double zig-zag.

My husband, who often gives me the first “outsider” opinion of my projects, wasn’t so sure about this card, but I always include at least one rustic or country kind of design, so the plaid from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper worked perfectly.

Do you know how to make that “reverse punch” banner using the Classic Label Punch?  After you punch out the sentiment, simply insert the label into the punch from the side and punch the notch, like this:
