Tin is “in”!

But I must admit that I’m not really a fan of galvanized tin.  The real stuff, that is.  I don’t like to touch it.  I like the looks of it on a birdhouse roof or as a garden sign, but I’d prefer to look, not touch.

Lucky for me Stampin’ Up! has Galvanized Metallic Paper in the upcoming 2018 Holiday Catalog.  (Don’t forget to watch for it online tomorrow!)  All the shimmer, none of the fingernails-on-a-blackboard feeling.

There’s a beautiful, new Tin Tile Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder that is perfect for this paper, but I chose to emboss with the Corrugated folder for this card from yesterday’s Waterfront blog hop:

You may know that Stampin’ Up! recommends spritzing your paper before using a Dynamic Textured Impressions folder for the deepest embossing result.  I use rubbing alcohol because it dries quickly.  Spraying the Galvanized Metal Paper, however, caused it to tear when I ran it through the Big Shot.  I think that was the cause; maybe not.
