It seems like the Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog has been with us for more than just about three months, doesn’t it? Maybe it’s because I’m snowboot-deep in Christmas designs for the upcoming Jingle Jump weekend, but it felt good to revisit this July camp card:
Of course this rose is stunning; it’s one of the patent pending Distinktive stamps that has shading built into the design. Here’s a little bit of background on this innovative technique:
You may have remembered a Distinktive floral stamp from last winter’s Sale-A-Bration (see my card using Heartfelt Blooms here). As with that stamp, I find I get the best and most consistent ink coverage by using a hard rubber brayer. After inking up the stamp with Grapefruit Grove, we applied additional color (Calypso Coral) to the rubber with a Sponge Dauber, then stamped on my favorite new pink paper: Petal Pink.
The other cool feature of this card is the pierced background, created with a die from the Stitched Labels Framelits set. It’s easy to overlook this particular die — but don’t! We used it twice on this background to create an amazing background. The tag was cut with a die from the Lakeside Framelits set; those little points on each end were perfect with the background.
