Girls with pearls

When Barbara Bush died in April, I heard several references to her pearl necklaces.  That made me remember the pearls I used to wear pretty regularly when I was younger and working outside the home.  My sisters gave me pearl stud earrings for my wedding and I think one of the strands I have was my mother’s.  (Why don’t I know?)

Of course, there’s not much call for the classic look of pearl jewelry downstairs in the studio, so now I’m happy to enjoy the effect in some of the Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper — specifically the Share What You Love Specialty pack, with its pearlized finishes on some prints.

That first print, above, is quite stunning, so I turned it into a camp card for May:

You don’t get much of the pearl effect from this view, so let’s take a (much) closer look:

Shimmery ribbon, Pearlized Doilies, and this specialty paper — wow!

I had the perfect scraps left over to add to the card liner.
