Graceful medallion

Graceful Glass is one of 14 suites in the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  I received the suite stamp set, Painted Glass, in my OnStage display stamping materials.

If you like to color, this set is for you!  Here I stamped the medallion in black ink, but I’ll have a variation tomorrow.  After completing the coloring, I smooshed a VersaMark pad into the image, then poured over clear embossing powder and heated it till melted.  I repeated this twice more so there was a thick, glassy appearance (and the colors became even more intense) before cutting out the circle and adhering it to a slightly larger black circle and then a vellum circle.

Even in this closeup, you can’t see one of the striking aspects of this card:  I repeated the medallion image in VersaMark all over the Whisper White card base, then heat embossed in clear powder.  It’s a beautiful background — a little challenging to see what you’re doing, so it’s not perfect, but still beautiful!
