I cannot tell a lie, I was dismayed when I opened the box of new products I could use for last weekend’s OnStage display. One of the stamp sets, Sea of Textures, had a large image of what I consider to be one of the most repulsive, horrible animals created by the hand of God.
Naturally, once I expressed my feelings after the display was up, friends told me how much they enjoy eating this animal. Gag.
And yet, everything else in the set is very appealing (lovely sentiments!), so I decided to use almost every stamp in a collage:
I copied a layout from one of my favorite non-SU! stampers, Susan Raihala. Because of the subject, I started with a Calypso Coral card base, then surprised myself by getting the other colors right on my first attempt.
So, do you see it?
I used a stitched vellum mat behind the sentiment — I love the way the background appears through the sheer paper. However, I had to laugh when I saw I had used the same element on two other cards for my board!
